Position: Associate Pastor of Youth and Children’s Ministries Purpose:
To provide leadership and coordination
for the church’s educational ministry to children (Pre-K to 5th
grade) and youth (Junior High and High School) Biblical Charge:
Ephesians 4:12-13 “For the equipping of the saints, for the work of
ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the
unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,
to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Accountable to:
Session through the Senior Pastor as
Head of Staff Qualifications: A dynamic and creative
person who is passionate about developing new programs to teach and lead the
children and youth into the truth of God’s word Experience in children’s
ministries and youth ministries (preferable) Graduate of an
accredited theological seminary Responsibilities: The person will work as a colleague with the Senior Pastor in establishing the vision of the Christian Education program through inspiration, strategizing, guidance, example, prayers, and the use of his/her own spiritual gifts. The person will also work with the Children’s Ministries Committee and the Youth Committee to develop, implement and administer a comprehensive Christian Education plan for children and youth. The following are specific responsibilities of the position: 1. To establish, plan and lead regular meetings for the junior high and high school groups 2. To teach the high school Sunday school class on Sunday mornings 3. To organize and oversee, with the help of volunteers, the Sunday School Program, the Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School and special events centered around major Christian holidays 4. To lead/participate in retreats, missions trips, and camping programs for involvement by members of the junior high and high school groups (e.g. AEYF retreats and conventions, Camp Arev, Mexico missions trips) 5. To effectively administer the children’s and youth ministries, including attractive, highly visible publicity, proper care of church property and equipment, fundraising and financial accountability, and appropriate long range planning 6. To recruit and oversee volunteer ministry teachers/workers for each program or event and conduct regular meetings so all lay leaders feel emotionally supported, equipped for their work, and evidence high morale. 7. To attend the monthly Session meetings and the staff meetings as requested 8.

Participating in and supporting Armenian and worldwide ministries Affiliations: Presbyterian Church, USA and Armenian Evangelical Union of North America.
