Rev. Berdj Djambazian was honored and thanked for his six years of service to the AEUNA as Minister to the Union, and more than 50 years of service in the Middle East, Europe and the USA, at a dinner held September 24, 2021 in Glendale, CA in conjunction with the AEUNA Board of Directors meeting.
Speakers included Interim Minister to the Union Rev. Hendrik Shanazarian, Armenian Missionary Association CEO / Executive Director Zaven Khanjian, Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian church and a close colleague Rev. Dr. Ara Chakerian, a close friend and church member Vahe Baliozian, another family friend and church member Roseann Saliba, and family member Pauline Andonian.
Rev. Djambazian’s tremendous energy, courageous mission trips, devotion to the Armenian people demonstrated through consistent missions to Armenia and the Near East, and commitment to spiritual learning and devotional time as well as personal fellowship and mentorship were all celebrated and noted by the speakers.
Rev. Shanazarian highlighted Rev. Djambazian’s relational ministry and mentorship. Zaven Khanjian highlighted his commitment to AMAA humanitarian and evangelical projects throughout his pastoral and mission-focused career. Rev. Chakerian spoke about his support and encouragement of the young leaders. Roseann Saliba thanked his life partner and spouse Shoghig Djambazian for her strong support of his ministry. Vahe Baliozian mentioned how he continuously supported and prayed for their family especially during the most challenging periods, and daughter Pauline Andonian related that Badveli Djambazian’s family felt his support and love for them as well as for the people he reached.
Rev. Serop Megerditchian served as MC, Acting Moderator of the Union Rev. Calvin Sagherian presented a gift on behalf of the Union, Zaven Khanjian and AMAA President Dr. Nazareth Darakjian presented him with a plaque on behalf of the AMAA, and Rev. Dr. Ron Tovmassian prayed blessings for Rev. Djambazian’s future endeavors.
Rev. Djambazian addressed the gathering by emphasizing the example set by his father, a survivor of the Armenian Genocide, who incorporated Prayer, Worship, Bible, and Outreach in his daily life. He closed by praying in thanks for Interim AEUNA Minister to the Union Rev. Hendrik Shanazarian.
Rev. Razmig Minassian closed the program with the Armenian Evangelical Hymn Park Yev Badeev and a prayer.
