MODERATOR

Rev. Greg Haroutunian is the Senior Pastor of First Armenian Presbyterian Church in

Fresno, CA and served as Vice Moderator on the AEUNA Board from 2012-14.  Presently, he serves on the AEUNA Ministry Committee and as an “at large” member of the Board.  Prior to returning to California in 2014, Badveli Greg was the minister of First Armenian Church in Belmont, MA for ten years.  Back in the 20^th century, he served as Associate Pastor, serving the youth and families of FAPC.  Badveli Greg’s passion is disciple-making.  Through both adults & youth making disciples who make disciples, he is convinced that Christ will empower our churches to grow, impact our nation and the world.  Badveli also loves to run!  He and Sossy have three children, Mark, Ani and Alexan.

VICE MODERATOR

Gregory Sarian, CPWA®|CIMA®|CFP®|ChFC®|CEPA

Greg is Founder and Partner of a financial advisory firm outside Philadelphia, PA. For more than a decade, his team has been named one of the Top 1,200 Advisors by Barron's and Forbes. Greg earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Boston College. He is active with Life Sciences Pennsylvania and volunteers at the Good Samaritan Shelter, Personnel Committee of the AEUNA and is a member at Armenian Martyrs' Congregational Church. He currently serves as the Vice Moderator of AEUNA Board. He enjoys learning about wine, traveling, and running. He and his wife, Laurel, have three children, Elizabeth, Christian and Grace.

CLERK

Christine Momjian lives in the greater Philadelphia area with her husband and adult children, and is the daughter of former AEUNA moderator, the late Rev. Soghomon Nuyujukian.  She currently serves as the AEUNA clerk. She is passionate about learning and applying what it means to be a disciple of her Lord, Jesus Christ. Christine is an active member of Armenian Martyrs’ Congregational Church (AMCC), where she served as a deacon and on the local committee to plan the 2022 AEUNA/AEYF biennial.  She continues to serve on AMCC’s  Christian Education committee and leads a weekly online Bible study. Active in AEYF leadership in her youth, she currently serves as the chair of the AEWF-ER and leads a monthly AEUNA prayer group. Christine also serves on the board of the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) and has served with their medical mission trip in Armenia.

TREASURER

Darrell Levonian is a respected business leader, entrepreneur, and community servant with decades of experience in commercial real estate, banking, and corporate leadership. Throughout his career, he has held executive leadership positions in major real estate organizations and currently serves as Managing Director and Board Member of Kidder Mathews, one of the largest commercial real estate firms on the West Coast. Darrell is actively engaged in civic and educational leadership through service on several boards, including Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy and ARDA. He is a member of the United Armenian Congregational Church where he has served as moderator, member of the Board of Trustees as well numerous committees He cherishes time with his family and grandchildren, and loves spending his free time on the golf course or out on the water.

COMMITTEE CHAIRS

ARMENIAN CHRISTIAN HERITAGE

Salpi Nercessian is a Christian educator, librarian, and a life coach. She was born in

Aleppo, Syria and was a member of the Armenian Evangelical Emmanuel Church. She holds a Professional Master of Education degree from Queen’s University, a Master of Library and Information Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Theology in Christian Education from NEST. She was an instructor of Christian Education and the library director at the Evangelical Theological Academy of Armenia, the library director at Haigazian University in Lebanon, and a Bible teacher in Armenian Evangelical schools in Syria and Lebanon. Currently, Salpi lives in Montréal, Canada and is a member of the First Armenian Evangelical Church where she leads a women’s Bible study. She also volunteers with the AMAC, organizing seminars and children’s programs. She continues to serve as Education Consultant at Khoren and Shoushanig Avedissian School and Community Center in Armenia. Salpi is married and is the mother of two children.

EVANGELISM

Rev. Georges Dabbo was born in Lebanon where he received Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age and studied theology in Paris at the Bible Institute of Nogent sur Marne and the Faculty of Theology in Vaux sur Seine. After serving as a pastor and evangelist in France and throughout the world for many years, in 2003, he accepted the call to serve as Pastor of the First Armenian Evangelical Church of Montreal. Rev. Dabbo and his wife Priscilla have three children. He and his church have been active in the work of helping Syrian refugees who have come to Canada, while also continuing to accept invitations for evangelistic campaigns (or events) from around the world.    

MINISTRY

Rev. Dr. Ara Heghinian grew up in church and was deeply influenced and transformed by the grace and nurture of God. While in college, he responded to a call to ministry and has endeavored to serve Christ ever since. Badveli Ara joined the Armenian Evangelical Church of Cranston Rhode Island in October 2012. He is also a Licensed Pastoral Psychotherapist in the State of New Hampshire. Before coming to Cranston, Badveli Ara served as the Pastor of the Ararat Armenian Congregational Church of Salem, NH and the Armenian Presbyterian Church in Paramus, NJ. His educational background includes a Doctor of Ministry degree from Andover Newton Theological School and a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. Badveli Ara has served as Vice Moderator, Ministry Committee Chairperson, and Committee on Youth Chairperson of the AEUNA. Ara is married to Kimberly Rose (Zartarian). God’s greatest gift to them has been their two sons, Alex & Gregory.

PUBLICATION

Rev. Serop Megerditchian was born in Kessab, Syria and received his

M. Div. from the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon in 1995. He was ordained by the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East in 1999. Before his current role of Senior Pastor at Glendale Armenian Church of the Nazarene, he served at Armenian Cilicia Evangelical Church of Pasadena from 2018-2023. Rev. Megerditchian previously served as Ministry Coordinator for the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America (AEUNA) in Glendale, CA. He has also served at the Armenian Evangelical Holy Trinity Church of Kessab, Syria from 1995-1997, Armenian Evangelical Emmanuel Church in Aleppo, Syria from 1997-2015 and as the Senior Pastor of the Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto, Canada from 2016-2017. He is married to Dr. Alina Minassian-Megerditchian, and they have two adult children George and Vars.

STEWARDSHIP

Alec Balian has a long history of serving in the Armenian Evangelical community. He spent many years in Lebanon as a youth leader and member of the Executive Board, building strong connections and making a meaningful impact. Today, he continues that commitment at the Armenian Martyrs’ Congregational Church in Havertown, PA, where he leads fundraising efforts and community initiatives. Alec and his wife, Shoghag, are the proud parents of two daughters, Araz and Alique, and enjoy staying actively involved in their church and the greater Philadelphia community.

YOUTH

Haley Surmeian is from Immanuel Armenian Congregational Church in Downey, CA.

She has been a member of the AEUNA Board of the Directors for the past two years as the AEYF National Representative and previously served as a member of the Committee on Youth from 2022-2024. She was an AEYF West Executive Committee member from 2016-2022, serving as President from 2019-2020 and ex-officio from 2020-2022. She has volunteered at Camp AREV beginning in 2011, serving in various roles over the years such as Coordinator, Counselor, and Kitchen Staff. Haley received her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Master’s degree in Public Health from UCLA and is currently working as a Quality Assurance Specialist at an engineering company. She is grateful to God for the opportunity to serve Him in this ministry over the years and is looking forward to continuing to serve the AEUNA youth and young adults in this new role.

MEMBERS AT LARGE

Rev. Aren Bahadourian is a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband to Trina for almost 18 years and a father to four. After Jesus, they are his greatest blessings and the most important people in his life. He has been in ministry for about 25 years and is currently serving as the associate pastor at Armenian Christian Fellowship in Orange County, CA. He and Trina are also leading Remain, a ministry they launched in the fall of 2021. Their aim is to come alongside those in suffering to encourage them to remain by growing in faith in Jesus, grieving with hope in Jesus and going with the love of Jesus. 

Rev. Jason Davis is a member of Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church in Fresno California. He is an ordained minister in the AEUNA and is currently pursuing a Marriage and Family Therapy degree in Fresno. He looks forward to serving on the AEUNA board and hopes to continue to serve the proud legacy of our churches in North America.

Hovsep Joseph Garabedian is the pastor of Armenian Cilicia Evangelical Church in Pasadena, CA. His calling from the Lord is to share the salvific message of the gospel with everyone he encounters. Pastor Joe attended Talbot School of Theology as well as Fuller Theological Seminary where he received a degree in Master of Divinity in 2021 and is studying for the ordination exams. He has served on the AEUNA board of directors as the chair of the Evangelism committee as well on the board of Camp AREV. He has led a team with the AMAA to Armenia for the internship program. His goal and prayer are to continue to be an obedient servant of the Lord Jesus and be an effective ambassador for Christ. Pastor Joe is married to Lena.  They are blessed with three children and one granddaughter.

Christine Getzoyan is a member and worships at the First Armenian Church in

Belmont, MA.  She has served as a committee member of the AEYF, Camp Arevelk, and AEWF-ER. She also volunteered as a pharmacist on the AMAA medical mission trip. She is currently a deacon and remains actively involved in various other ministries within her home church.

Elizabeth Manasserian was born in Iran and moved to the United States as a teenager in the late 1970s. She studied at University of Southern California and worked as an electrical engineer for Exxon in the mid-1980s. She has been married for 40 years and has two sons. At age 18, she gave her life to Christ and has since served in churches across Florida and California. In 2019, she earned a Certificate of Christian Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and became a certified spiritual life coach. She is a licensed pastor with the Foursquare Church and currently leads the Women’s and Young Adult ministries at Christ Armenian Church.

Nora Orchanian was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her family immigrated to the

United States and settled in Rhode Island. In 1975, she married Hagop Orchanian. Nora is a member of First Armenian Church of Belmont, MA. They are blessed with two children, Silva and Shant. As a devoted wife and mother, Nora faithfully supported her husband in his work as a business owner. Throughout the years, she has faithfully served the Armenian churches in many roles, including Sunday School teacher, Christian Education Committee, and Board of Deacons. She was also part of the core leadership team that organized the first two women’s conferences on the East Coast, with AEWF-ER. In recent years, she has continued her commitment to Christian ministry through her leadership and involvement with the Armenian Women’s Fellowship and Arise Ministry.
