Minas Atamian Appointed Interim Program Director for Camp AREV Winter Camps 2027

On behalf of the Camp AREV Board, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Minas Atamian as Interim Program Director for Winter Camp 2027.
This appointment comes as we prepare for an important leadership transition at Camp AREV. At the end of this year, Rev. Razmig Minassian will conclude 14 years of faithful service to Camp AREV.
The Board is deeply grateful to Razmig for his extraordinary commitment to our campers, families, counselors, staff, and the broader Camp AREV community. His leadership, dedication, and love for the ministry have shaped Camp AREV for more than a decade, and we thank him sincerely for all that he has given to the Camp.
As we begin the process of identifying Camp AREV's next permanent Director, the Board wanted to ensure that Winter Camp remains in capable and experienced hands. Minas has been integrally involved in the administration and operation of both our Winter and Summer Camps over the past two years as a member of our paid leadership team. As a result, he already knows our campers, counselors, staff, programs, and operations and understands firsthand the values and traditions that make Camp AREV special.
Minas also currently serves as Youth Director at the Armenian Christian Fellowship of Orange County and brings a strong background in youth ministry and pastoral leadership. The Board has great confidence in his ability to lead Winter Camp and to provide continuity during this transition.
“I strongly believe that spiritual mentorship and the shaping of character begin at a young age. Camp AREV is a beautiful ministry that helps our campers grow in their faith and learn to act ‘in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ’ (Philippians 1:27). I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role, and I look forward to serving alongside our counselors and staff, as well as partnering with our families, trusting that God will work through this ministry to transform lives at Winter Camp 2027.”— Minas Atamian
While Minas's appointment is initially for Winter Camp 2027, the Board will continue its search for a permanent successor to Razmig. During this transition, we remain committed not simply to maintaining the quality of the Camp AREV experience, but to continuing to strengthen and improve our programs while preserving the faith, fellowship, safety, and sense of community that have always been at the heart of Camp AREV.
Please join the Board in thanking Razmig for his many years of dedicated service and in welcoming and supporting Minas as he takes on this important responsibility.
We look forward to an exciting Winter Camp 2027 and to the next chapter in Camp AREV's ministry.
Warmly,
George Phillips, Jr.
Chairman, Camp AREV Board
