On September 27th, over 150 attendees gathered at the Glendale Armenian Church of the Nazarene to celebrate 180 years of the Armenian Evangelical Church. The evening was a special opportunity for youth, young adults, families, pastors, and church leaders from across the Armenian Evangelical community to come together and reflect on God’s faithfulness throughout generations. With the theme “A Night Set Apart,” the evening centered on worship, remembrance, and gratitude for all that God has done through the Armenian Evangelical Church over the past 180 years.

The evening began with a time of worship in both Armenian and English, led by Rev. Razmig Minassian alongside youth from GNAZ, UACC, and COA. Bringing together different generations and churches, the worship service served as a reminder of the unity we share in Christ and the importance of continuing to praise the Lord in both languages and across generations.

The highlight of the evening was a multigenerational panel discussion reflecting on the past, present, and future of the Armenian Evangelical Church. Moderated by Rev. Razmig Minassian, the panel featured Rev. Hendrik Shanazarian, Rev. Serop Megerditchian, Rev. Hovhannes Hovsepyan, Rev. Aren Balabanian, Minas Atamian, and Nico Hanessian. The discussion created an opportunity to reflect on the church’s history, recognize the challenges and opportunities facing the church today, and consider how the next generation can faithfully carry the 180-year legacy forward. The panelists reflected on the values and convictions that have sustained the Armenian Evangelical Church throughout its history, the importance of learning from previous generations, and the responsibility of today’s generation to preserve and build upon that foundation.

Following the panel, everyone gathered for dinner and fellowship. The evening continued with conversations, laughter, and time spent connecting with friends and members of the broader Armenian Evangelical community.

The evening was a powerful time of worship, remembrance, and celebration as we reflected on 180 years of God’s faithfulness to the Armenian Evangelical Church. It was a blessing to witness the faith and legacy passed from one generation to the next and to be reminded that the story of the Armenian Evangelical Church continues with each generation. As we look toward the future, we pray that the same faithfulness, conviction, and love for Christ that shaped generations before us will continue to guide the generations to come. We are thankful to the Glendale Armenian Church of the Nazarene for graciously hosting the event and to the AEUNA for their leadership and cooperation in making this special evening possible. We praise God for where He has brought us, celebrate His faithfulness today, and look forward with faith to all that He will continue to do in the generations to come.
