Mr. Vartan Moumdjian exemplifies leadership built through service. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, he became an active participant in the Armenian community at a young age, dedicating decades to preserving the identity, culture, and values of the Armenian people in the diaspora. His journey demonstrates that a true legacy is forged through commitment, solidarity, and intergenerational continuity.

Between 1980 and 1990, he held key leadership roles within the Armenian youth community, presiding over the Junior and Evangelical Youth groups at the Central Armenian Evangelical Church of São Paulo, coordinating the AGBU (UGAB) Youth Department, and leading the traditional Armenian Cup—initiatives that fostered integration and the development of young community leaders.

Since 1994, he has dedicated himself to the Central Armenian Evangelical Church of São Paulo, serving as Director, President of the Administrative Board, Elder/Counselor, and Vice-President, always guided by faith, service, and community unity. In 2025, he assumed the Presidency of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund/Brazil, following years of service as a Member of the Supervisory Board and Vice-President, thereby continuing support for humanitarian, educational, social, and development projects in Armenia.

Over the years, he has also represented the Armenian community at various official ceremonies, reaffirming his commitment to historical memory, the preservation of Armenian identity, and the strengthening of ties between the diaspora and the Republic of Armenia.

The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia pays tribute to Vartan Moumdjian, recognizing his dedication and invaluable contribution to strengthening the Armenian-Brazilian community and the enduring bond between Brazil and Armenia.
