At the September 24, 2021 AEUNA Board of Directors meeting, Rev. Calvin Sagherian was unanimously appointed as Acting Moderator of the AEUNA, and Rev. Serop Megerditchian was unanimously appointed as Acting Vice Moderator. Both pastors will serve in these roles until the end of the regular 2022 term.
Rev. Calvin Sagherian was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, the son of Rev. and Mrs. Hagop Sagherian. He attended Armenian Evangelical Schools until he immigrated to Canada, where he was active in the youth ministry of the Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto. He pursued his call to ministry at Talbot School of Theology in Southern California while serving as an intern at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena.
Rev. Sagherian served as assistant pastor at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church in Fresno, CA for seven years; as Campus Minister at Haigazian University in Beirut, Lebanon and as senior pastor at Armenian Brotherhood Bible Church in Pasadena, CA for 16 years. He is currently serving as pastor of Calvary Armenian Congregational Church in San Francisco since February of 2019 and was most recently Vice-Moderator of the AEUNA.
Rev. Serop Megerditchian, born in Kessab, received his M. Div. from the Near East School of Theology, Beirut, in 1995, and was ordained by the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East in 1999. He previously served as Ministry Coordinator at the AEUNA office in Glendale, CA (Feb 2018 – July 1, 2018); Senior Pastor, Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto, Canada (2016-2017); Senior Pastor, Armenian Evangelical Emmanuel Church, Aleppo, Syria (1997-2015); and Senior Pastor, Armenian Evangelical Holy Trinity Church, Kessab, Syria (1995-1997). He is currently pastor of Armenian Cilicia Evangelical Church in Pasadena, CA.
