Armenian Evangelical Brethren Church Spring 2022 Update

We are grateful to God for the continued privilege of serving Him and growing as part of the local body of Christ. While we had to resume precautionary measures for in-person services and activities in January, we are grateful that the surge was short-lived. We are glad to see many returning for in-person services while we continue praying for those who are experiencing trials of different kinds. Our Friday women’s group is our church’s prayer backbone and we are starting a once-a-month prayer night open to everyone.

Our Tuesday evening Bible studies just completed a series through the book of Job. Our Friday morning’s women’s Bible study group started a new series titled, “Praying with Power”. The Saturday Adult Bible Study group is continuing a verse by verse study of the book of Romans. Our Missions committee met twice so far this year to evaluate 2021 missions and plan for the coming year. Members of our Church Council were glad to meet with members of the AEUNA Task Force to exchange ideas and share feedback. Our Sunday School teachers had an afternoon training seminar for the children’s curriculum as well as a time for spiritual growth and fellowship in February.

The first issue of our newsletter just went to press as we begin commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Pari Lour publication. Rev. Dikran Shanlian is working on revising and compiling articles for a book release later this year.

Our first Discovery Membership Seminar of 2022 was held on March 12 with 15 participants. These seminars have proven to be an important time for individuals to discover God's purpose for them in the local church.

As we prepare for our Annual Church Meeting we are looking to upgrade our livestream and audio/visual equipment. This summer we look forward to celebrating our 15th year in Glendale. We also thank God for the 25th Anniversary of our sister church, Ararat Evangelical Church in Utah. Rev. Dikran Shanlian and Rev. Joe Matossian are scheduled to celebrate the occasion with Pastor Paronyan and congregation in May 2022.
