Updated: Sep 28, 2022

The Armenian Evangelical Youth Fellowship, Western Region hosted its fall retreat at Glendale Armenian Church of the Nazarene on September 16-18, after two years of not being able to gather. More than 50 participants were in attendance, representing nine churches from San Francisco to Orange County. The speaker was Rev. Jeremy Tovmassian and the topic was Integrity based on Proverbs 11:3, and how to live it through Christ. Rev. Tovmassian also led a Q&A session where the youth were able to communicate their struggles of living with integrity.

During the weekend a business meeting was held and a new executive committee was elected:

Chairperson: Garo Minasian (Fresno, CA)

Vice Chairperson: George Safrian (Montebello, CA)

Treasurer: Tadeh Shanazari (Burbank, CA)

Secretary: Kareena Tashjian (North Hollywood, CA)

Youth Counselor: Vars Megerditchian (Berkeley, CA) Youth Counselor: Alaythia Der Vartanian (Orange County, CA)

Youth Counselor: Alique Malakian (Glendale, CA)

AEYF-WR Youth Advisor: Rev. Razmig Minassian (Fresno, CA)

Ex-Officio member: George Megerditchian (Pasadena, CA)

On Sunday, participants attended the Sunday church service where the new Executive committee was installed and blessed with a prayer by Rev. Hrag Karagoezian, followed by fellowship with the local congregation.

I thank God for all His blessings and the host church for the support they provided that resulted in a successful event for the Armenian Evangelical youth on the west coast. I pray that the incoming Executive Committee leads the youth of the west coast to a life of commitment to Christ and establishes the bonds of Christian fellowship among them, for His glory.
